Kiruna

is Sweden's largest and the most northern community with only one inhabitant per
square kilometre. The name of the town Kiruna comes from the
sami name for ptarmigan; gieron.
Kiruna
at wintertime is magical as we have the beautiful
darkblue sky reflecting to the clear white snow. As
well the shiny green northern lights dancing on the sky
among the beautiful bright stars.
The best season is in early spring where chilly nights
gives us surface wich is hard enough to carry
dogs and sleds everywhere.
Travelling with sleddogs gives you a great
possibility to experience the nature and wilderness in
the area. This silent way of travelling takes us close to the
wild animals (mooses, reindeers, ptarmigans) without
disturbing them.

When
you book a day tour with us, we take you to our kennel
in Holmajärvi, 30 km west of Kiruna.
From
here you can enjoy views of
Sweden's highest mountain Kebnekaise.
The area is a well-known wildlife area. In wintertime
we often have mooses (elks) visiting our kennel!
